Women on the Frontier
 2018

The theme for Women on the Frontier 2018 was Fighting Frontier Females and consisted of sections on molding musket balls, firing a flintlock, handling edged weapons and firestarting. Participants ranged from re-enactors to visitors who wanted to learn about a women’s life on the frontier. The weekend event is now in it’s 14th year of hands on learning.

The 14th Annual Women on the Frontier saw bright sky and sun as participants gathered to learn the frontier skills for “fighting frontier females” of the 18th century.

One of the most popular of the scheduled events was shooting a flintlock. Above demonstrator Scott Heasley goes through the steps for a woman to fire a gun for the first time.
