Women on the Frontier in 2011 continued the 7 year program with a hands on approach. Women who attended (along with fort visitors) got to try their hand at things pertaining to Food and Fiber - this year’s theme. Food preparation included jerking meat, a walk through the fort garden, drying apples, salting meat for preservation, cooking methods, baking bread and churning butter and milking a cow. The fiber portion of the program included spinning, carding, weaving, and sewing an apron.
