After the arrival of several frontier families Park Manager, Phil Gray announced the guest speakers,
(Left) Nancy O’Malley from the William S. Webb Museum of Antropology conducted a field school on the property in 1999 and talked of what she had learned. Link to UK antropology Website.
ReEnactor Spencer Northup gave an excellent first person account of “A Frontier Farmer”.
(Above) Author and historian Neal O. Hammon has done extensive research on the Boone family and their land claims and spoke of the early confusion on the claims to this land.
Gun maker Larry McQuown pictured above with his horse talked about 18th century firearms and loaded and fired for the crowd.
Despite the warm weather there was a cool breeze blowing as Neal Hammon spoke. At right Commerce Secretary George Ward stopped for a photo with Daniel Boone.
